Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Iran have enjoyed close cooperation and long-standing cordial ties based on mutual respect and understanding for more than three decades. Over the past year, a wide range of bilateral, regional, cultural, academic, and people-to-people engagements have taken place. This was shared by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Brunei Darussalam during a reception for the 47th anniversary of the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It was held at a hotel in Gadong, 13th February night.

Representing His Majesty's Government was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. His Excellency Mohammad Taghi Rajabi added that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to strengthen bilateral ties in all areas especially in economy, trade, exporting technical and engineering services, culture and tourism.
